Finally! Ghana’s Tema–Mpakadan Railway Opens — First Step Toward Burkina Link

After nearly a year of delays, Ghana’s newly built Tema–Mpakadan railway is now officially open for both passenger and cargo operations. Launched in November 2024, this 96.7 km standard-gauge line connects Tema Harbour to Mpakadan, forming the first phase of the ambitious Ghana–Burkina Faso interconnectivity project. The initiative aims to facilitate trade, reduce transport times, and enhance regional integration.
