Using locally sourced parts for models such as the Omama SUV and Onantefo pickup truck, the business started manufacture in 1998. In order to manufacture automobiles from knock-down kits, Kantanka Automobile set up an assembly facility in Accra in 2012 with the help of the Chinese business Chongqing Big Science and Technology. China imports are used to construct Kantanka automobiles in Ghana. In addition to being marketed domestically, completed automobiles are shipped to Nigeria and Ivory Coast, among other West African nations.
